TikTok Shop photo sizes: the complete 2026 guide
Every image size, aspect ratio, and format TikTok Shop requires — covering product photos, main banner, and live-selling tiles.
TikTok Shop grew faster than any social commerce platform in 2025, and it ships its own image rules that differ from Instagram, Facebook, and the rest of ByteDance’s ecosystem. Get them wrong and your listing either looks blurry on the For You page or gets auto-cropped in ways that cut off your product.
This is the full spec sheet.
Product images
| Slot | Dimensions | Ratio | Format | Max size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main product image | 1340×1340 | 1:1 | JPEG / PNG | 5 MB |
| Additional images | 1340×1340 or 800×800 | 1:1 | JPEG / PNG | 5 MB |
| White background variant | 1340×1340 | 1:1 | JPEG | 5 MB |
What TikTok Shop looks for on the main image:
- Product fills 70–90% of the frame.
- No text, price tags, watermarks, or QR codes.
- Plain background preferred — white or a single neutral color.
- Lighting consistent across all product photos for the same SKU.
Listings with one square main image plus three lifestyle or detail shots consistently outperform single-image listings. The algorithm treats photo diversity as a quality signal.
Vertical lifestyle shots
TikTok Shop’s in-feed product cards pull the main image, but the explore grid and short-video stitches can crop to vertical. If you want your product to survive a 9:16 crop, shoot a separate 1080×1920 version and upload it as one of your additional images.
- Keep the product in the center 60% of the vertical frame.
- The top and bottom 20% will often get overlayed with UI (product name, price, add-to-cart button).
Brand banner & logo
- Banner: 1920×1080, 16:9, JPEG, under 2 MB.
- Logo: 800×800, 1:1, PNG with transparent background, under 500 KB.
TikTok Shop’s logo guidelines require a solid-color logomark. Gradients and photographic logos are frequently rejected by the auto-reviewer.
Live selling (LIVE) tiles
If you run LIVE sessions, your product tiles need their own treatment:
- Tile image: 1080×1080, 1:1, JPEG.
- Product must occupy at least 60% of the tile — TikTok’s LIVE overlay can hide up to 30% of the edges.
A common mistake: using the same Amazon or Etsy main image. Those crop fine on a marketplace page but get swallowed by the LIVE UI. Re-shoot or re-crop for LIVE specifically.
How photoZseo handles it
Pick the TikTok Shop preset inside photoZseo and the app:
- Crops to 1:1 with the product centered at 85% of the frame.
- Resizes the longest side to 1340 px.
- Writes out a JPEG at sRGB, quality 85 — well under the 5 MB ceiling.
- Writes the same shot in WebP at the same size for use on your own site or storefront.
Need a 9:16 vertical version? Switch the export aspect to 9:16 and the app re-crops the same source photo to 1080×1920 — keeping the product centered in the safe area that TikTok’s UI overlays don’t cover.
Everything is processed on-device. No upload, no cloud queue — you get your files in under three seconds per photo.
The quick test
Before you hit “Publish” on TikTok Shop:
- Main image is 1340×1340 or larger, 1:1
- Background is clean, single color
- Product fills 70–90% of the frame
- At least one additional 9:16 vertical shot uploaded
- No text, price tags, or watermarks
Five yeses and your listing won’t get kicked back by the reviewer. More importantly, it won’t get auto-cropped into something unrecognizable on the shopper’s feed.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between TikTok Shop and TikTok feed image sizes?
TikTok Shop product images are 1340×1340 at 1:1. The feed (For You) crops to 9:16 vertical (1080×1920). A product image will get auto-cropped into the feed unless you upload a dedicated 9:16 companion shot.
Why does TikTok Shop reject my logo?
TikTok Shop's auto-reviewer expects a solid-color logomark on a transparent background — 800×800, PNG, under 500 KB. Gradients, photographic logos and rasterized text logos are the most common rejections. Re-export as flat PNG and resubmit.
How is the LIVE selling tile different?
1080×1080 at 1:1, JPEG. The product must occupy at least 60% of the tile because TikTok's LIVE overlay hides up to 30% of the edges with UI (product name, price, add-to-cart). Reusing Amazon main images here causes the product to get partially hidden.
Can I batch-export every TikTok Shop size from a single shot?
Yes — that's exactly what photoZseo's TikTok Shop preset does. Shoot once, the app outputs the 1340×1340 main image and a 1080×1920 vertical companion in JPEG and WebP, sized to spec and EXIF-cleaned. The export happens on-device — no cloud, no upload.
Does TikTok Shop accept WebP product photos?
JPEG and PNG are the documented formats. WebP isn't on the official accepted list, so stick to JPEG for main images. Keep WebP for your own site or Shopify export — TikTok will reject it on the seller dashboard upload.
